I've had a camera in my hand for as long as I can remember. For the last couple of years I've been second shooting and filming weddings alongside a close friend of mine who's an exceptional wedding photographer, capturing many incredible wedding days together.
I'm still doing that, but I'm also putting more time into growing JWPhotos and photographing more of my own couples across West Yorkshire, Yorkshire and beyond. As much as I love creating beautiful wedding films, my real passion has always been photography.
The reason I love weddings is simple. You get to spend the day surrounded by people celebrating one of the happiest moments of their lives. It's busy, it's chaotic, every wedding is different, and it's nice to be surrounded by a bit of happiness once in a while.
I'm definitely not your typical wedding photographer either. I won't be stood in the corner all day taking random photos. I'll be chatting, having a laugh, helping everyone feel relaxed and blending in with your guests. The more comfortable people feel, the better the photos are, and that's exactly the atmosphere I like to create.
My style is natural, relaxed and creative. I'll capture the real moments as they happen, but I'm always looking for those little opportunities to create something special too.

Hi, I'm Jay.
I've had a camera in my hand for as long as I can remember. What started as a hobby quickly became an obsession, and these days there's nowhere I'd rather be than behind a camera on a wedding day.
For the last couple of years I've been second shooting and filming weddings alongside a close friend of mine who's an exceptional wedding photographer. Working together at so many weddings has given me invaluable experience, but it also made me realise something...
Photography is where my heart is.
There's something special about weddings. You get to spend the day surrounded by people celebrating one of the happiest moments of their lives. It's busy, it's unpredictable, it's emotional, and every single wedding is different. In a world where we all spend far too much time worrying about one thing or another, it's nice to spend a day surrounded by nothing but happiness.
I'm probably not what you'd expect from a wedding photographer either. I won't be hiding in the corner all day silently clicking away. I'll be chatting with your guests, having a laugh, helping people relax and blending into the day. The more comfortable everyone feels, the more genuine the photos become.
My style is natural, relaxed and creative. I love capturing the moments you don't even realise are happening, but I'm also always looking for those opportunities to create something a little different that you'll be proud to hang on your wall.
At the end of the day, I don't just want to deliver beautiful photographs. I want you to look back at them in 10, 20 or 30 years and remember exactly how your wedding day felt.

I'm all about keeping things natural. No awkward posing, no forced smiles and no spending hours away from your guests. Just real moments, captured as they happen.
For most of the day, you'll barely notice I'm there. I'll be documenting the laughs, the happy tears, the hugs and all the little moments that make your wedding yours. Those are the photos that mean the most.
That said... I also love getting creative.
Whether it's a champagne spray, colourful silhouettes, dramatic off-camera flash or something completely unique to your venue, I'm always looking for opportunities to create a few extra wow photos you'll be excited to show everyone.
They're not for every couple, and that's absolutely fine. But if you're up for trying something a little different for 10 minutes, we'll create some standout images that really set your gallery apart.
The way I see it, your wedding gallery should have both.
The natural, storytelling moments that bring back the memories... and a handful of creative images that make you stop and say, "Wow, that's us."
